Two Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Positions in Physics

Howard University

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Howard University invites applications at the Assistant Professor level for two tenure-track faculty positions. Preference for one of the positions will be given to applicants who are experimentalists specializing in nanoscale materials science for renewable energy applications. The successful candidates are expected to establish a vigorous research program and to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Existing synthesis and characterization facilities at HU are available to help the new faculty researchers quickly establish and advance their research initiatives. Howard University is ranked as one of the top private universities that focus on producing African American scientists. Howard University has several campuses, providing access to outstanding facilities for interdisciplinary collaborations with local research organizations such as NASA, NIST and NRL. In addition, the Department has a strategic priority of enhancing collaborations and interactions with national labs and to lead/participate in large interdisciplinary research programs.
