A Review of Carbon Nanotubes (CNT): Application of CNTs to a Flexible Transparent Photonic Device

Carbon nanotubes (CNT) have superior characteristics that have given them great promise for new 21st century materials. Since their discovery in 1991, much fundamental research has unveiled the source of their unique properties. Today, applications are being sought to harness the potential of this material. This talk will present a didactic review of the underlying physics and principles of CNTs as an aid to students’ understanding of this material. After the review, a brief presentation will be given on research that was conducted by the presenter towards the development of a flexible transparent conductive nanomaterial with photonic applications.
